Hmm I'm using a T-Mobile G2, which from what I read is very similar to the Desire HD. Coincidence?

I notices this too. All you have to do is go to sound and vibrate in smart keyboard pro settings, and lower the volume. That will fix the problem. I notice this problem and this "fix" worked for me. I lowered the volume by just one tick, but that was relative to my arbitrary setting. But ...

Right now we have two numberless sliders, one for portrait and landscape modes. I found the process of finding my desirable key height a bit troublesome, so I have a few suggestions: -Show a number scale instead of (or in addition to) a slider with no numbers. -Have a "Return to defaults" ...

As a workaround, perhaps you could try this app? Keyboard Manager
I know the last thing you want is to pay for a workaround but I just want to throw the option out there.
