Remove the status bar

Post by cdvddt »

Hi,

I really love this app, this provides even better keyboard than the HTC one.
I have two suggestions which are related to the same problem :
I have a HTC Legend, which has a pretty small screen / resolution.

Thus, every pixel gained is an improvement.

I like the functionality to force full screen mode even in portait.
But the status bar is still there, and is pretty useless when typing.

I know that some applications have real fullscreen modes (like Dolphin, or games).
So would it be possible to remove the top status bar in fullscreen mode, or even in standard mode :
I don't know whether Android will let you change the layout of the underlying application, but this would be great.

This would also be great to be able to switch full mode on/off (with or without the status bar) with some custom button, like the menu button, or volume keys.
Hence, it really depends on the application we are using : Some a great with full screen mode in portrait, some are not.

Finally, this would save a lot of space to have suggestions shown as overlay under or below the words (like HTC Touch keyboard) instead of a static bar.

Thanks in advance to consider these features,
Regards,

Raphael

Status bar as in 'suggestions'?
In text prediction, you can turn off suggestions and the bar goes away.
However, then you don't get the autocorrection....
I think I once suggested to have it autocorrect without the bar because it does a fine job.
I think that's how my Blackberry was.....
But there isn't a way to do that afaik

No,
I am talking about the native top bar of the android OS (Showing time of day, battery status, network strength, 3G / 4G upload/download, etc ...)
I know that some application get rid of it (in games, some browsers in fullscreen mode, etc ...)
